This was our third trip to Tender Smokehouse. We live in KS but found it by accident (or fate) a couple years back. It has become a regular stop every time we have been in the DFW area. This trip was extra special and good. After getting our food, Mike came by to check on us (as he did with other tables). We chatted for a while learning more about him and some of the Tender ways. At the end of the meal, we ended up buying a bottle of bbq sauce and rub. I'm excited to give it a try on brisket at my house. Maybe I can make some semblance of their brisket, which is amazing. We had that, some pulled pork and sausage, along with beans, potato salad, and Mac & cheese. Ohh... and can't forget the banana pudding. 😋 Can't wait to go back again!!

In town for work and wanted to try a local place for lunch. Five star experience for me. Great atmosphere, very friendly and attentive staff. But man, the food was next level. Perfect brisket…super moist and definitely aced the pull test with a nice bark as well. For me though, the turkey and the bbq beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back if I’m ever back in Frisco.

Best BBQ in town! Brisket just perfect with good smoked flavor, like melting in your mouth and BBQ sauce is so good. Fried okra good as well, but they don't have cornbread. Also, don't forget to try Texas soda, too! They are care about their customers, manager or owner goes around the table to check on customers.👍

This is a great traditional barbecue spot! The service was awesome, and everybody was very friendly! Whenever you sit down after you order your food, they will give you some homemade chips and a bottle of their barbecue sauce! My food came out shortly after and was exactly as ordered. I got the jalapeño sausage and some brisket. They do allow you to choose between a leaner cut or not of the brisket and I chose the leaner cut so it was a little bit on the dry side, but that is to be expected. The sausage was nice and spicy, and the cheese with the smokiness was a great combination. Barbecue in Texas is highly competitive so I wouldn’t place it in the top tier however, it is very good despite that. The atmosphere gives off a very Texas country vibe. Very similar to a lot of other barbecue spots that I’ve been to. All in all, I would highly recommend this spot.

I’m in the area for business and had an urge for some Texas bbq. I had some brisket, original sausage, and their baked beans. The brisket and sausage were solid examples of traditional Texas barbecue. The brisket had a well developed, smoky bark, and it seemed to be seasoned mostly with salt & pepper so the smoke could really come through. The sausage was flavorful and had a great consistency including a casing with that “pop” that it should have. Although both meat selections were good, the real star were the beans. Flavorful, smoky, with a nice level of spice that was balanced with just the right amount of sweetness. They were also chock full of meat. I could eat a bowl of these with some pickles and Texas toast on the side and make a meal of them. Also included were some complimentary, fresh warm potato chips.
